The Tunisian government has paid special attention to the development of organic agriculture and the organization of the sector . This is particularly the enactment of Law No.30 of 5 April 1999 which marked the official birth of organic agriculture in Tunisia.

The Sfax Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a state institution of economic interest, Governed by Law No. 80-43 of May 19, 1988, as supplemented and amended by Decree No. 80-2007 of 15 January 2007. It is run by a committee of 30 members elected every 5 years a group of professionals from Sfax. It has a legal entity and a financial autonomy, under the supervision of the Ministry of Commerce.
